Ahh, to be old and boring!

Well, what to talk about in my first official blog (excepting my MySpace blogs)? Hmm....it's raining like hell, and another summer is slipping rapidly away. I no longer have to worry about the slings and arrows of returning to school (my son has that down pat-I wish I had the inner strength he has in abundance when I was his age!). But I still can't help but feel a bit wistful about September rounding the corner. Days getting shorter, leaves to be raked (yecch, I'll take mowing the property any old day!), and the inevitable arrival of holidays and, Good Lord, SNOW! Snow was far more fun at a younger age, particularly when one didn't have to worry about fishtailing all over I-80, or sliding sideways down mountain roads.
On the other hand, there are still more than a few warm days left. As long as the weather permits, me and Robbo will be hitting Tomahawk Lake whilst I have next week off. YAY!!! And I get to celebrate being another year older to becoming totally obsolete next month. Hopefully, it will somewhat like last years' Planned Obsolesence Celebratory Day (i.e., birthday). The weather was magnanamous, I had a splendid b-day dinner with the family and mother and sister in-law, got a fan-freakin'-tastic Fats Domino collection for a gift, and made music with my bloodbrother John (a/k/a Johnny 2X4 to this ED, EDD 'N EDDY fan!). What more can a boring old fart ask for?
Other than that, I brought a plethora of great music to the job today-Otis Redding, Sonny Rollins, Seether, Violent Femmes and Derek and The Dominoes-to keep me comapny whilst stuck at my desk. Alas, it was so damn busy, none got played. Sigh. But at least they're all picked out for tomorrow so I can hopefully serenade my co-workers with my off-kilter musical tastes (at least off-kilter to the rapheads that inhabit the job!).
Over 'n out for now. Rosstifarian
