Bye Bye Vacation-Hello Doctor!

Well, I did indeed manage to make it to Tomahawk Lake with my son. We had a mostly great day, and we even hit the paddle boats, which I haven't done since the days I did the same with my father at Verona Park. Robert liked it so much, we took two trips. Outtasight!
One fly in the ointment: Robert wanted me to go on at least one water slide. I can't swim to save my life, so I had to take the teeny weeny one which empties into a 3 1/2foot pool o' H20. Piece of cake, right? WRONG! I'm so panic stricken at being in the water (not on it, as our paddle boat sojourns attest to), I grabbed the side of the slide as I came out, and POP! Lotsa pain, humongous black and blue mark on my right arm, and I'm off to my doctor in a half-hour.
Lesson learned: water slides are OUT for this rapidly aging schnook! I'm far too cowardly and set in my ways to even think about attempting the most benign water slide. Water volleyball in my mother in-laws'/sister in-laws's pools are the extent of what I'll be doing aqua-wise.
And that is the extent of excitement of my vacation. But at least there's still some good weather to end it with. And with this injury, any and all strenuous activities and yard work are out. Do I feel guilty? TAKE A GUESS!
As we head into fall (and I hope for a long Indian Summer, as Brewer and Shipley would agree with), let's hope folks make the right decision this November, and let's pray that King George The Idiot decides not declare a national emergency and suspend the Bill of Rights and Constitution if McCain isn't elected, thus depriving King George of a third term (which would be as undeserved as his first two). We need something resembling hope for this country and planet. I hope we get that chance. All of us deserve it, and especially our children.
Music to keep my sprits up as of late: SUPERUNKNOWN, Soundgarden; FOREVER CHANGES, Love; CAPUCHIN SWING, Jackie McLean; and JOHNNY CASH AT FOLSOM PRISON. And of course, there will always be more music. Thank God for that.
